Are You Using These Beauty Products All Wrong?

Eyelash Curler
Don't skip out on this step just because you aren't quite sure how the thing works. You’d be surprised at just how much it can make your eyes really pop.  
 
But, don't make the mistake of applying it after your mascara. You need to first clamp your lashes then add a layer of mascara. It'll add a whole new dimension to your lashes.

Perfume
The method we picked up from friends or in ads of spraying wrists, rubbing them together, then rubbing onto our neck is actually all wrong. This heats up the perfume, which will alter its scent.
 
Rather just spray without rubbing, or spray a bit in front of you and walk into it for a more subtle smell.

Eyeliner
Lining your eyes can be great for adding definition, but chances are you’re over-lining your peepers.
 
When lining your eyes only apply to the outer two thirds of your lash lines, otherwise you’re actually just making your eyes look a lot smaller.

Hair Oils
We've all seen what the benefits of hair oils are but often struggle to get the same sheen at home, and this is probably because you’re applying it straight after stepping out of the shower. You need to wait until your hair is totally or at least semi-dry before working in your hair oil.
 
And remember to avoid the top third of your hair; you don't want to add more oil to your scalp area.

Beauty Blenders
The key to seamless foundation is all in the sponge, so long as it's damp. When you use your sponge dry it doesn't blend as well plus it soaks up loads of your precious product.
 
Soak your beauty blender in some water, wring it out well and then use it to apply your foundation perfectly.

Nail Polish
We're all guilty of this. Do you give your nail polish bottle a good shake up before you start painting your nails? Turns out all this just creates a lot of air bubbles which is why your manicure lands up looking less than perfect.
 
All you need to do is to gently roll the bottle between your hands to warm it up a little before you start.

Toner
Applying toner is a step in your skincare routine you've been doing for so long you probably don’t even realise you're doing it wrong. By simply sweeping your cotton pad over your face the formula barely has a chance to get to work on your skin.
 
Rather take your time, holding the cotton pad in place over each section of your face to let it really sink in.

Mascara
Instinctively we pump the mascara wand in the tube a few times before we get started to load it up with more product. This actually pumps air bubbles in to your mascara which means it will dry out faster and lead to flaky lashes, plus it allows bacteria to get in and flourish - eww!
 
Rather twirl the wand in circular motions while it’s inside the tube to pick up more mascara formula.

Mousse
Mousse is having a big come back, but don't make the same mistakes you did when you used it before.
 
Most of us apply it to the midsection and ends of our hair. But mousse is actually mainly for volume, and volume starts at the root - so get scrunching at the scalp.

Blush
When applied in circular motions directly to the apples of your cheeks, blush can make your face look too round or childlike.
 
Rather apply in a sweeping motion just along the hollow of your cheeks to subtly add some colour.

Brow Brush
Once you've perfectly lined your brows you probably feel pleased with your sharp lines, but you're missing out on a crucial step in your brow game.
 
The brush at the end of your brow pencil isn't there for nothing; brush your brows after you've pencilled them in to blend in the colour and soften your brow edges - this way you won't look like a cartoon character.

Hair Brush
It's likely you just have one hairbrush, but your hair isn't the same texture all the time and you need to cater to that. When your hair is wet you should use a brush with flexible bristles or a thick-toothed comb. Your hair is more vulnerable and likely to break when wet so start at the tips and slowly work your way up.
 
When your hair is dry use a round metal brush, especially if you are going to be blow-drying; it will give you the most lift.
