For some women the idea of going out totally bare is just so not an option. If you want more coverage than just a few dots of concealer use something lighter than foundation, like BB Cream or a tinted moisturiser.
 
Light coverage looks more natural so it won’t be noticeable if some of it melts a bit as the day goes on, and you can reapply on the go without fancy brushes or sponges.

Fight the Frizz
With summer comes humidity, and with humidity comes the dreaded frizz. While your hair is still wet run a smoothing cream through the last two thirds of it to make sure your hair dries without frizzing.
 
Keep an anti-frizz spray in your handbag at all times for touch ups too.

Lightly Tinted Lips
If you can’t be bothered to touch up your lipstick throughout the day you need a more low-maintenance solution.
 
Bold and bright colours and definitely having a moment, but if you’re prone to a bit of upper lip sweat it’s likely they will just bleed around the edges of your lips.

Use a tinted lip balm to add a pop of colour while also nourishing your lips.

Keep Your Face Oil Free
When things get sweaty we tend to reach for the powder. While powdering your face definitely does help to mattify things, it can get cakey with time; especially if you keep reapplying it.
 
Rather carry some good old-fashioned blotting papers and dab your face throughout the day with them. They'll absorb oil without removing your precious makeup.

Switch Up Your Palette
Many women have a signature go-to look when it comes to makeup, but it's important to change it as the seasons change.
 
Summer tones should be lighter, like pink or coral lipsticks and shimmery shades of eye shadow. A smoky eye or bold mauve lip doesn't look quite right when it's sunny out, and if these dark tones smudge, it's way more dramatic (and not in a good way).
 
This doesn't apply to your skin makeup though. As your skin gets a bit of sun on it you'll probably have to choose concealer/foundation etc in a shade or two darker than what you wore in winter.

Keep Things Glossy
Although matte lipstick looks chic in winter the dry-look doesn't wear well in summer, especially on lips that are dried out from the heat. Lip-gloss is having a moment this summer so it's a perfect time to rock the latest high-gloss finish.
 
Just line your lips with a pencil in the same shade to prevent bleeding. Your lips will be moist and kissable the whole day.

Change Your Face Care Routine
Your skin suffers in summer because the humidity means oil and sweat on your skin can’t evaporate as easily, so it just sits on top. Change your face wash to something that foams or is gel-based. These are great for absorbing excess oil from the skin’s surface.
 
Because your skin is a bit oilier this time of year you can up your exfoliating routine too. Use a chemical exfoliator twice a week instead of just once to help rid your pores of extra and unnecessary oil.

Practice Your Emergency Hair Styles
Sweating, swimming and humidity all wreck havoc with your hair. There's nothing worse than feeling your hair slowly become more and more frizzy or curly in all the wrong places and you’re nowhere near your hair straightener. Perfect a go-to emergency hairstyle for these situations.
 
Braiding your hair into two plaits keeps it off your forehead while still framing your face. Scraping it back into a bun at the nape of your neck is always chic too.
 
Keep some dry shampoo in your handbag to prep your hair before styling so that it doesn’t just look greasy. Or if it’s too far-gone run a decent amount of gel though it and rock the wet look.
